Emergence

This highly individualized program is designed for our autistic participants of all ages who have a lower level of autonomy and difficulty socializing. The activities are varied and stimulating. The maximum ratio is one caregiver for one or two participants, depending on the specific needs of the participant.

While benefiting from individualized supervision, participants are grouped into sub-groups of four people based on their age, interests, and ability to participate in activities. Each sub-group consists of 4 caregivers and a coordinator. As part of this summer program, we welcome an average of 30 participants per 10-day stay at Emergence. In addition to about thirty caregivers, three animators and an activity coordinator ensure the smooth running of the programming and outings, three “bat” caregivers provide continuous surveillance and support during the nights, two health care coordinators take care of everyone’s health and well-being, four team coordinators monitor interventions, and a program officer serves as a liaison with the office.

This program is offered at our main campus at Granpré Colony, 756 Chemin Des Patriotes, Otterburn Park. Click here to see on the map.

iDÉFIx

This program is designed to meet the specific needs of autistic individuals who, due to significant behavioral issues, require even tighter supervision.

The need for respite for families living with these individuals is acute, and Emergo is often the only resource that can offer them this vital break.

Adaptatou

Focused on integration, this program is designed for children aged six to fourteen whose socialization skills are higher. The children participate, full-time or part-time, in the activities at the Camp Mariste outdoor base.

Each participant is paired with an Emergo monitor, who assists and guides them in their integration journey. The monitors also serve as a link between the Emergo children and those at Camp Mariste and collaborate with the other animators.

This program is offered at Camp Mariste, in Rawdon (Lanaudière).

Un rêve à réaliser

This program allows high-functioning autistic individuals or those with Asperger’s syndrome, aged 16 and older, to thrive in a more normalizing environment and to meet a host of challenges appropriate for them.

Participants live in small groups and partake in various daily life activities in their own way. The ratio is three animators for nine participants.

This program is offered at Villa Marie-Rose: 151, chemin Charron, Val-des-Lacs, Quebec, Canada, J0T 2P0

School-year respites

Emergo respites aren’t just for the summer!

From September to May, we offer about twenty respites that start on Friday at 6 p.m. and end on Sunday at 4 p.m. (Monday at 4 p.m. on holidays). The respites are accessible for autistic persons of all ages (4 to 77 years old) and all levels of autonomy (Asperger, non-verbal, etc.). We allocate 2 to 4 school-year respites per family.

For school-year respites (not in the summer), transportation is provided from our office in Montreal to the deGrandpré Camp. Parents can also bring their child directly to the camp. We pair participants based on their age and autonomy, and caregiver ratios range from 1:1 to 1 caregiver for 3 participants.

At the camp, a team of 18 caregivers is on-site to ensure your child has a wonderful weekend. The caregivers are assisted by an activity coordinator, a health care coordinator, and a team coordinator. There is also a night watchman who provides support during the night.
